Indian athlete Vithya Ramraj was born on September 20, 1998, in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. She has won the National Championship three times. Vithya competes in the 400 meters, 100 meters, and 400 meters hurdles. She matched the Indian national record of 55.42 seconds in the 400m hurdles on October 2, 2023, at the Asian Games of 2022. P.T. originally held this record. Usha at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. She also qualified for the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024. Her accomplishments have given Indian athletics a lot of attention.

Early Life

Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu is where Vithya was born. Meena is a housewife and her father is a truck driver. Her identical twin, Nithya, is also an athlete. India’s railways employ Vithya. When Vithya Ramraj’s daughters began playing hockey, her mother enrolled in seventh grade at the Erode Girls Sports School. Vithya Ramraj and Nithya Ramraj later switched to athletics.

Family

Vithya is from Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore. Meena takes care of the household while her father drives trucks. Nithya, her identical twin sister, is an athlete as well. Vithya works for India’s railways. Prior to their mother enrolling them in the Erode Girls Sports School for Class 7, the twins played hockey. Vithya sought after her BBA degree from Kongu Expressions and Science School, Dissolve, from 2016 to 2019 on a games grant given by the KVIT Trust, Perundurai. Her athletic endeavors were supported by the college’s management and faculty.

Transition to Hurdles

Advertisement Vithya competed in the 100- and 200-meter sprint events up until 2017, but she later turned her attention to the 400-meter hurdles. She continues to compete in both the 400-meter and 100-meter races despite this shift.

  • 13 July of the year 2023: 100m hurdles – The Asian Athletics Championships will be held at the Supachalasai National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.;
  • 30 July of the year 2023: 4 × 400 m relay, 4 × 400 m mixed relay – in Sri Lanka’s city of Diyagama, at the Mahinda Rajapaksha Stadium
  • 10, 11 September of the year 2023: 400m, 400m hurdles – The 5 Indian Grand Prix will take place in Chandigarh, a city in the Indian state of Punjab and Haryana.
