The Convert Movie 2024 Release Date, Story, Trailer

The trailer for THE CONVERT, which will be released in Aotearoa New Zealand in 2024, has been released by Mister Smith Entertainment, Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga, the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC), and Kismet. THE CONVERT, Lee Tamahori and producer Robin Scholes’ third collaboration, follows Mhana and Once Were Warriors.

“The Convert” premiered on July 12, 2024, at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it received mostly favorable reviews. The film is presently scheduled to show up in theaters and on VOD on July twelfth. Rising New Zealand actress Tioreore Ngatai-Melbourne (from “Hunt for the Wilderpeople”) plays Rangimai alongside Pearce. She’s a youthful Maori lady who barely gets away from butcher because of an opponent Maori ancestral pioneer. The official New Zealand-Australia co-production THE CONVERT was funded by the New Zealand Film Commission, the Te Puna Kairangi Premium Productions for International Audiences Fund of the New Zealand Government, MBK Productions, and Fulcrum Media Finance, as well as the Screen Production Rebate of the New Zealand Government, the Australian Producer Offset program, and the New South Wales Post Digital and Visual Effects Rebate. Mister Smith Entertainment will handle international sales, and Kismet will distribute THE CONVERT theatrically in New Zealand and Australia.

New Historical Drama

The “L.A.” in this new historical drama Thomas Munro, a missionary preacher, is played by the star of “Memento” and “Confidential.” Shipped off mid nineteenth century New Zealand on board an English boat, Munro is entrusted with laying out a congregation among both the early colonizers and the native individuals. However, when he becomes involved in a long-running conflict between two rival Maori tribes, his mission takes a terrifying turn. Munro cries out for peace in the midst of the chaos, only to witness what will undoubtedly be a bloody battle.

The Convert is scheduled to debut in theaters and on video on demand on July 12. From a screenplay that Lee Tamahori co-wrote with Shane Danielsen, the film is directed by Lee Tamahori.
