The film’s performance. The actress is probably most well-known for her role as Kayla in Hacks, where her complete incompetence is only matched by her almost psychotic self-confidence. Cora and Kayla share a fundamental inability to be anyone but themselves and an overall state of chaos. However, Cora Bora also gives Stalter a chance to broaden her range by bringing out new shades of sadness or uncertainty in Cora’s bluster.

Story
According to the Indiewire review, “Cora Bora” follows a fairly predictable formula, right down to a kooky detour at an orgiastic poly commune. It’s a conventional, quirky comedy about a struggling musician trying to win back her girlfriend. Stalter is a whirlwind and a universe on her own, and the other players simply react to her eccentricities. Her unique brand of an uncomfortably confident loser is reliably funny, but not enough to carry a whole movie. However, her charisma helps elevate the familiar material. The official Cora Bora trailer for the upcoming comedy-drama film, which stars Hacks’ Megan Stalter as a struggling musician in an open relationship, has been released by Brainstorm Media.

Cora Bora Movie Trailer
Meg Stalter, a comedian, has pretty much monopolized the market for characters who are lovably annoying ever since her breakout role on the Hollywood insider comedy “Hacks.” On the Emmy-winning HBO comedy, she pretty much steals the show as Kayla, an incompetent assistant from hell. She transforms the blasé, clueless rich girl into an archetype, a lifestyle, and a personal brand. She is just as funny as the main character in “Cora Bora,” and it was only a matter of time before some daring writers gave her a star vehicle of her own.
