Suraj Panwar excitedly told PTI, “This is the first time I am participating in the marathon walking mixed relay, so I have not set any specific time limit for this experience. This occasion is special for me as I have got a chance to represent my country, and I am fully prepared to give my best.” He further said, “In this competition, I have to cover a distance of a little more than 20 km (total 22.195 km in two stages). The difference is that after walking 12.195 km, I will take a break for a while and then run for the next stage.

During this time, Priyanka will be completing her first 10 km run. During the break, I will refresh myself with the help of massage or physiotherapist so that I can be ready for the next 10 km.” For Pawar, his mother has always been a source of inspiration, who even today motivates him to focus on the game. My mother has told me to focus only on the game and forget about other things. I even talk to her on the phone only occasionally, but her inspiration is always with me.”
