Story
The film, a biopic set during the Cold War, follows Ronald Reagan’s journey from his childhood in Dixon, Illinois, through Hollywood, and finally to the White House. It opens with a 90-year-old Petrovich (Jon Voight) receiving a visit from a rising Russian leader who wants to learn how the Soviet Union was lost. Petrovich, the covert agent who has a universal knowledge of Reagan, starts telling the story of his enemy: the man he jokingly nicknamed “The Crusader,” starting in 1922, when 11-year-old Ronald Reagan faces his most memorable life emergency.
